Emergency Crisis Assistance

The insurance covers emergency crisis assistance provided by crisis psychologists in our network if you experience an acute mental crisis due to the following:

  • If you are exposed to a sudden serious incident/accident where you have been in dangerIf you are subjected to robbery, assault, violence, or kidnapping
  • Fire, explosion, or burglary in your private home or own business (must be reported to the police)
  • If you are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness
  • Death of a close family member
  • If a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness
  • If you witness the sudden unexpected death of a family member or colleague or any other sudden serious incident/accident.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

For most treatments covered by your Health Insurance, a doctor's referral is required. Therefore, we always recommend that you begin by contacting your own doctor before reporting your claim. Your doctor can examine you and refer you to the appropriate treatment.

After obtaining the referral, you can download it from sundhed.dk and upload it directly to your case.

Log in with MitID on sundhed.dk
Click on 'Click here to see referrals.'
Click on the relevant referral.

It's important to include the entire text when you submit it (i.e., also the text from the sections Anamnesis, Social, Objective findings, and what was said to the patient).

How to save the file so it can be attached to the case:

Right-click anywhere on the referral you want to save.
Choose 'Print.'
The document will now open in a printer-friendly view in a printable version on your computer.
Then select 'Save as PDF' under the 'Destination' tab.
Press 'Save' at the bottom of the box.
Typically, your computer will ask you to name the PDF file and specify the location on the computer where the document should be saved. You must not use special characters such as æ, ø, å, and others.

Then press 'Save.'

Now the document is saved on your computer.

Alternatively, you can take a picture with your mobile phone or tablet - it's important that you do not have any live functions enabled.

You are now ready to upload the file via the User Portal.

How do I get a refund for my treatment?

Please note that the insurance only covers expenses for treatment that has been pre-approved by Dansk Sundhedssikring. If you have not received approval for the treatment before starting, you should contact our Health Team.

If you have paid for an approved treatment, you need to submit your invoices through your User Portal.

If you received a personal link to your User Portal via email when your treatment was approved, please use that.

Log in to the User Portal with your MitID.

Click on "Upload invoices" on the left side and fill in the relevant information. Remember to press "save" before finishing.

The information is automatically sent to our billing team.

We aim to refund your expenses within 2 weeks.

Which treatments does my insurance cover?

Your Health Insurance covers treatment for a range of diseases, disorders, and injuries. You can find more information by reading the applicable insurance terms here.

How do I insure my family?

You can insure your family (spouse, partner, and/or children) by logging into the User Portal and enrolling them under the 'Family Overview' menu and then 'Add New Family Member.'
